ICMA-Partner « voll auf Kurs »

In der nächsten Saison der Tonhalle Zürich werden fünf Musiker auftreten, die ihre erste Unterstützung durch die gemeinnützige Stiftung ‘Musik & Jugend’ bekommen, und/oder musikalische Erfahrungen beim Festival ‘Next Generation in Bad Ragaz gesammelt, und/oder Unterricht an der Internationalen Musikakademie im Fürstentum Liechtenstein – dem Kooperationspartner der ICMA für den neuen ‘Discovery Award’ – erhalten haben. Der künstlerische Leiter der Akademie und des Festivals ‘Next Generation’, Drazen Domjanic sagt: « Diese Tatsache macht mich nicht nur stolz, sondern zeigt immer mehr die Notwendigkeit der zielgerichteten Förderung, welche hier in den letzten 5 Jahren stattfand. Dabei einen herzlichen Dank an unsere Gönner, Partner und Sponsoren. » Die fünf Musiker sind Noa Wildschut, Kian Soltani, Aaron Pilsan, Marc Bouchkov und Claire Huangci. ICMA-Jurymitglied Andrea Meuli (Musik + Theater) kommentiert: « Drazen Domjanic ist  mit seinen Entdeckungen voll auf Kurs! »

After their performances at the ICMA Gala Concerts in 2012 and 2014, two double ICMA Award winners were reunited this weekend in Saarbrücken, Krzysztof Penderecki and pianist Joseph Moog. After the world premiere of Penderecki’s Trumpet Concertino with Gabor Boldoczki, Joseph Moog was the soloist in Karol Szymanowski’s ‘Symphonie concertante’.

ICMA Young artist of the year 2015 Jodie Devos will make her role debut as Rosina in Rossini’s ‘Il Barbiere di Siviglia’ at the Opera in Liège (Belgium). Four performances are scheduled from 18 to 24 October.

Swiss conductor Charles Dutoit (Lifetime Achievement Award 2014) is the guest of the Saturday afternoon concert series of the Dutch Radio Avro, today (2 May) at Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw). He is conducting two rarities: Maurice Ravel’s L’Heure Espagnole as well as The Nightingale by Igor Stravinsky, with the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic Orchestra & Chorus.

ICMA’s partner for the 2018 Award Ceremony, the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra presents a new festival, Katowice Kultura Natura which will run from the 15th until the 24th of May 2015. Under the artistic direction of the NOSPR’s Artistic Director and Chief Conductor Alexander Liebreich, this music festival will showcase renowned soloists, ensembles and orchestras from Poland and abroad, in varied and ambitious programmes. Dmitrij Kitajenko continues his Brahms cycle with the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra on 25 April with the Violin Concerto and the Fourth Symphony. The concert at the opera house of Doha reunites two prize-winners of the International Classical Music Awards, Dmitrij Kitajenko, winner of the Lifetime Achievement Award 2015 as well as the Artist of the Year, Christian Tetzlaff, who plays the solo part in the Concerto.

Russian radio Orpheus and Radio 100,7 from Luxembourg will broadcast the ICMA Gala Concert with the Bilkent Symphony Orchestra on Thursday, 23 April 2015 from 20:00 – 22:00 respectively on 7 May from 14:00 – 16:00 (Internet Livestream: http://www.100komma7.lu/lu/go/on-air/).
