ICMA Jury nominates 377 releases for the 2022 Awards

The International Classical Music Awards ICMA today announced the nominations for their Awards 2022, celebrating the best musicians and recordings. This year’s nominations include many renowned soloists, ensembles, conductors and orchestras as well as a lot of young musicians, many of them being first-nominees. A total of 377 audio (+12) and video productions from 129 labels (+7) have been nominated. Slovak soprano Edita Gruberova died on 18 September in Zurich at the age of 74. The singer had undergone knee surgery in June. This had prevented her from attending the ICMA gala in Vaduz, where she was to have been honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award. Read More →

After a very warmly applauded performance at Teatro alla Scala of Brahms’s First Piano Concerto, conducted by Manfred Honeck (ICMA Artist of the Year 2018), pianist Beatrice Rana got her trophy as winner of the ICMA award Solo performance 2021. Nicola Cattò, ICMA Secretary General and editor of Musica magazine, gave her the trophy and complimented her. Beatrice Rana thanked for this prestigious award, expressing her gratitude and pride.
