Elso Dreisig received her award in Zurich

Since Elsa Dreisig was rehearsing for Don Giovanni at the Paris Opera the day of the ICMA Ceremony in Lucerne, the soprano – she was ICMA Young Artist of the Year 2017 – received her trophy on May 15, after a Manon performance at the Zurich Opera. The presenter was ICMA Jury member Andrea Meuli. Elsa Dreisig won this award for her CD Miroir(s) in the category Vocal recital.

The Jury of the International Classical Music Awards ICMA has noted that performing artists, ensembles and orchestras encounter more and more difficulties in getting visas. The Luzerner Sinfonieorchester, orchestra-in-residence of the KKL Luzern, is hosting this year’s ICMA Gala and Award Ceremony on May 10, at the KKL. As Switzerland’s oldest symphony orchestra, it has gained an international standing and is perceived as one of the leading Swiss orchestras. Strongly anchored in Lucerne, a city with a worldwide reputation for music, the orchestra offers a number of concert cycles and organises the Zaubersee Festival of Russian chamber music in Lucerne. American conductor Lawrence Foster who will conduct this year’s ICMA Gala Concert with the Lucerne Symphony Orchestra on 10 May at the KKL, was conducting a superb concert with Penderecki’s Eight Symphony in Warsaw, on April 18, with the National Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra Katowice (NOSPR) and the NFM Choir from Wroclaw. In 2014, Elzbieta Penderecka’s Beethoven Easter Festival in Warsaw hosted the ICMA Ceremony. ICMA Jury members regularly attend this festival. This year, Pierre-Jean Tribot (Crescendo) and Martin Hoffmeister (MDR Kultur) have attended the festival, and currently Remy Franck (Pizzicato) as well as Roman Berchenko (Radio Orpheus) are in Warsaw.

Im Rahmen der Jugendstil-Konzertreihe des Mosel Musikfestivals wird es dank der großen Nachfrage ein weiteres Konzert von Pianist Robert Neumann geben, teilte der Veranstalter mit. Die Veranstaltung ‘Jugendstil 2’ am 25. August war binnen kurzer Zeit bereits bis auf den letzten Platz ausgebucht. Aus diesem Grund hat sich der Sieger beim ICMA Discovery Award 2017 bereit erklärt, am gleichen Tag noch einmal zusätzlich um 11 Uhr vormittags auf Schloss Lieser aufzutreten.
