Penderecki Centre Luslawice Hosts ICMA Annual Meeting

At the invitation of the Penderecki Centre, the Jury of the International Classical Music Awards will have its annual General Assembly, January 27-30, in Luslawice, Poland. The Penderecki European Music Centre was inaugurated in 2013. The building has cost about €15.5 million and was financed by the European Union, the Malopolska Voivodship, the Polish state budget and the Krzysztof Penderecki Akademia Association. Read More →

Robert Trevino To Succeed Jun Märkl In San Sebastian

The American conductor Robert Trevino, 32, a native from Fort Worth, Texas, will be the new Music Director of the Euskadi Symphony Orchestra in San Sebastian from the Season 2017/2018. His initial contract runs through the 2019/2020 season. He will succeed Jun Märkl whose contract will end in June 2017. Märkl began his tenure in 2014. He conducted ICMA’s Gala concert in San Sebastian in April 2016.

Franz Patay Named General Manager Of Vereinigte Bühnen Wien

ICMA Jury member Franz Patay has been named General Manager of Vereinigte Bühnen Wien (Raimund Theater, Ronacher, Theater an der Wien & Wiener Kammeroper). He thus becomes one of the most important cultural managers in Austria. He takes over the new job immediately, and will at the same time work as rector of the private University Musik und Kunst in Vienna until the beginning of 2017. Patay is also Manager of the IMZ (Internationales Musik & Medien Zentrum Wien).
