Der Pianist Evgeni Koroliov wurde mit dem ICMA 2015 für seine Aufnahmen von Franz Schuberts Sonaten D. 894 & D. 959 bei Tacet ausgezeichnet. Isabel Roth, Mario Vogt und Martin Hoffmeister haben das folgende Gespräch mit ihm geführt. Redigiert wurde es von Remy Franck.

Evgeni Koroliov, 1949 in Moskau geboren, lebt seit 1978 in Hamburg und ist Professor an der Hochschule für Musik und Theater. Er selbst war Student des legendären Tchaikovsky-Konservatoriums. Zu seinen Lehrern zählten Heinrich Neuhaus, Maria Judina, Lev Oborin und Lev Naumov. Er war Preisträger der Bach-Wettbewerbe in Leipzig und Toronto und gewann 1977 den ‘Grand Prix’ beim Clara-Haskil-Wettbewerb. Read More →

This year, Russian conductor Dmitrij Kitajenko is honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award of the International Classical Music Awards (ICMA). Born in 1940, Kitajenko was Music Director of the Moscow Philharmonic, the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Bergen Philharmonic and the KBS Symphony Orchestra in Seoul. Some of his most outstanding recordings were realized with the Gürzenich Orchestra in Cologne, notably the complete symphonies by Tchaikovsky (Oehms Classics), Shostakovich (Capriccio) and Prokofiev (Capriccio). He was born in Catania in 1988 and graduated from the Music Institute Vincenzo Bellini in Catania, under the guidance of  Epifanio Comis, with honors and honorable mention. Finalist at the 58th edition of the prestigious Busoni Competition in Bolzano (2011), he was awarded the special prize Gianandrea Lodovici which consists in the production of a CD for the German label Arts.
