Two Double ICMA Winners Reunited In Saarbrücken

After their performances at the ICMA Gala Concerts in 2012 and 2014, two double ICMA Award winners were reunited this weekend in Saarbrücken, Krzysztof Penderecki and pianist Joseph Moog. After the world premiere of Penderecki’s Trumpet Concertino with Gabor Boldoczki, Joseph Moog was the soloist in Karol Szymanowski’s ‘Symphonie concertante’.

Swiss conductor Charles Dutoit (Lifetime Achievement Award 2014) is the guest of the Saturday afternoon concert series of the Dutch Radio Avro, today (2 May) at Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw). He is conducting two rarities: Maurice Ravel’s L’Heure Espagnole as well as The Nightingale by Igor Stravinsky, with the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic Orchestra & Chorus.

Dmitrij Kitajenko continues his Brahms cycle with the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra on 25 April with the Violin Concerto and the Fourth Symphony. The concert at the opera house of Doha reunites two prize-winners of the International Classical Music Awards, Dmitrij Kitajenko, winner of the Lifetime Achievement Award 2015 as well as the Artist of the Year, Christian Tetzlaff, who plays the solo part in the Concerto.
