The Westdeutsche Sinfonie in Leverkusen and the International Classical Music Awards (ICMA) successfully launched their project with young ICMA prizewinners. The project kicked off with Julian Kainrath, Discovery Award winner of 2022, who performed Max Bruch’s First Violin Concerto together with the Westdeutsche Sinfonia under its musical director Dirk Joeres.

The audience at Leverkusen’s concert hall Forum was enthusiastic about the performance and gave the soloist as well as the orchestra and its conductor a long round of applause, for which Julian Kainrath thanked them with a Bach Sarabande.

The next young ICMA prizewinner to perform with the Westdeutsche Sinfonie in 2025 is Leonhard Baumgartner, Discovery Award winner 2023.
