Pianist Frank Dupree releases his third Kapustin album in February on the Capriccio label, this time with the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra conducted by Dominik Beykirch.

The new CD features the Concerto for Piano and Orchestra No. 5, op. 27, the Concerto op. 104 for 2 pianos and percussion, and the Sinfonietta op. 49 for piano four hands.

Dupree says, « I am overjoyed and grateful to have recorded Kapustin’s 5th Piano Concerto with the RSB. The RSB is one of the few orchestras that has had previous experience with Kapustin’s orchestral works. As a result, we approached this highly complex work with the utmost respect and were thus ideally prepared for the new recording. And conductor Dominik Beykirch really got the orchestra going. »

In April 2022, Dupree received an International Classical Music Award (ICMA) for the recording featuring Kapustin’s Piano Concerto No. 4, Op. 56, Concerto for Violin, Piano & String Orchestra, Op. 105, and Chamber Symphony, Op. 57.
