The Kyoto Symphony Orchestra has announced a new musical team to take over in April 2020. Junichi Hirokami will become the orchestra’s 13th Chief Conductor & Artistic Advisor and the American John Axelrod, Principal Guest Conductor.  At the same time KSO will change its English name from Kyoto Symphony Orchestra to City of Kyoto Symphony Orchestra. As winners of an ICMA award in the category Symphonic Music, Dmitrij Kitajenko and the Gürzenich Orchestra were honoured yesterday at the Philharmonie in Cologne. Yury Revich launches Beethoven Project

Austrian-Russian violinist Yury Revich, 27, Young Artist of the Year of the International Classical Music Awards (ICMA) in 2015, pursues a brilliant international career. Together with the Italian pianist Fiorenzo Pascalucci he launched their own Beethoven Project for the upcoming Beethoven Year 2020. After the Swiss Radio broadcasted this year’s Gala Concert of the International Classical Music Awards, other radio stations are doing so as well.

MDR Kultur has the concert in its program on Friday, 24 May at 20h05. Radio 100,7 from Luxembourg will broadcast the Gala in its Euroradio series, on Thursday 06 June at 20h00.  Radio Orpheus will broadcast the program in Russia on 4 June at 21:00, Moscow time. Read More →
