Manfred Honeck
Austrian conductor Manfred Honeck, ICMA Artist of the Year 2018, has extended his contract as Music Director of the Pittsburgh Symphon for two years, to run through the 2021-22 season, when the orchestra will celebrate its 125th, birthday as well as the 50th anniversary of the opening of Heinz Hall. Honeck became music director in 2008.

Jodie Devos, ICMA Young Artist of the Year 2015, made her US debut during the Mostly Mozart Festival at New York’s Lincoln Center. She sang the soprano part in Mozart’s Requiem, conducted by Louis Langrée. In October, Warner Classics will release the debut album of another ICMA winner: soprano Elsa Dreisig’s CD Miroirs. Elsa Dreisig was ICMA’s Young Artist of the Year 2017.
Bernadette Beyne
ICMA Jury member Bernadette Beyne passed away last Sunday, 29 July, at the age of 69. Founder, in 1993, of the Belgian music magazine Crescendo, together with Michelle Debra, Bernadette Beyne was editor in chief of the magazine. Read More →

The winner of this year’s IMCA Discovery Award, which the Jury organizes in collaboration with the International Music Academy in Liechtenstein, Chinese flutist Yuan Yu, recently played two concerts in Asia.
