Next Generation Festival Bad Ragaz Announces 25% Increase In Ticket Sales

The Next Generation Festival organized at the Grand Resort in Bad Ragaz, Switzerland, is ending tonight with performances by the vocal sextet Sjaella and the Ensemble Esperanza, a chamber orchestra created in 2015 by the International Music Academy in Liechtenstein. The sixth edition of Next Generation registered a significantly growing number of visitors. For the 14 concerts, Intendant Drazen Domjanic announced a total increase of 25%. The ICMA Jury held its General Assembly during the festival.

Together with the Luxembourgish pianist Sabine Weyer, ICMA Artist of the Year 2015, Yury Revich, gave a stunning recital at Ettelbrucks’ Cape in Luxembourg, on February 3. The musicians began their demanding program with a passionate reading of Robert Schumann’s Violin Sonata op. 105, followed by a full-bodied Richard Strauss Sonata. A glittering account of Ravel’s Second Sonata, sensitively played Debussy preludes and a hot-blooded Tzigane got rave applause from the audience. The concert was attended by ICMA President Remy Franck.
