ICMA Warns Over Danger Of Confusion With New Organization

  • 03/02/2015

In the Netherlands, an organization is presenting itself under the name of ICMA 2015 – International Classical Music Auditions, with a corporate identity resembling very much to the one of the International Classical Music Awards, ICMA. The ICMA’s President, Remy Franck, said: « We are upset that music professionals are using our name, internationally known since 2010, and present it with a logo very similar to ours for their own purposes. I would like to underline that ICMA International Classical Music Awards has absolutely nothing to do with that organization, and we only can hope that the possible confusion will not harm the international recognition and independence of ICMA International Classical Music Awards. »

Save the Danish National Chamber Orchestra!

  • 12/12/2014

The Jury of the International Classical Music Awards has given the Award in the category Best Collection to the outstanding recording of the Mozart Symphonies with the Danish National Chamber Orchestra under the baton of Maestro Adam Fischer, published by Dacapo. Jury president Remy Franck says: « These recordings show both the invigorating interpretation of Adam Fischer and the superb playing of the orchestra. The box is a magnificent, quite irresistibly enjoyable achievement. At a crucial moment in the existence of the orchestra and while last efforts are made to save it from being disbanded at the end of the year, ICMA gives the announcement of this particular award a top priority, some weeks ahead of the official proclamation in January. ICMA urges the Danish Radio and the Danish Ministry of Culture to take any possible measure in order to save this orchestra. We sincerely hope that the orchestra will still be active when our Award Ceremony takes place in Ankara on 28 March 2015, hosted by the Bilkent Symphony Orchestra. »
